Summary of Functions

The Associate Professor in Cybersecurity contributes to excellence in teaching, research, academic advising, and community engagement within the College of Engineering and Technology. The position supports the delivery and continuous improvement of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Cybersecurity concentration) and related programs, in alignment with Fujairah University's mission and applicable CAA and ABET accreditation requirements.

The incumbent will teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, supervise student research, contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation, and demonstrate sustained scholarly productivity, mentorship, and academic and community service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in cybersecurity and related disciplines.
• Develop, update, and deliver course content reflecting advances in cybersecurity, relevant industry standards, and applicable CAA and ABET accreditation requirements.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to support students' academic progress, professional development, and research engagement.
• Supervise undergraduate graduation projects and guide students in applied and research-based work.
• Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Contribute to curriculum enhancement, program assessment and review, and accreditation activities.
• Participate in college and university committees, community outreach initiatives, and industry partnerships.
• Engage in continuous professional development to strengthen teaching effectiveness and research expertise.

Supervision

• Report to: Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology

Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. in Cybersecurity or a closely related discipline from an accredited university; expertise or specialization in Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of university-level teaching experience.
• A minimum of three years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
• A strong research record, demonstrated through publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience supervising undergraduate graduation projects and/or research theses.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Wireless and Mobile Security, IoT Security, Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics, Cloud and Network Security, or Blockchain Security.
• A demonstrated record of supervising postgraduate research theses and dissertations.
• Experience in academic or professional service, community engagement, or industry collaboration (preferred).
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
